A little welcome and intro for my favorite Twitter followers:
The cat is out of the bag! Today on Buried Under Romance the title and blurb for the next book in the Border Series of medieval romance novels was revealed. I’m thrilled to announce the release of The Lord’s Captive on June 6, 2017.
If you read The Thief’s Countess, you met Sir Geoffrey’s handsome but stoic younger brother. Sir Bryce Waryn is definitely not looking for love when he finds it in the unlikeliest of places.
Sir Bryce Waryn has dreamed for years about the day when he will finally liberate his home from the Scots who killed his parents and stole his brother’s birthright. Now that day is finally upon him, only his brother has abdicated the title of lord of Bristol Manor to him. Bryce should be celebrating, but something unexpected stands in his way—the sister of the Scot who held Bristol. In the chaos of the raid, Lady Catrina Kerr was injured and left behind. Bryce takes her captive, hoping to exact an even more satisfying revenge from his enemy, except the fiery beauty is far more compelling than he would like…
Raised by three elder brothers, Lady Catrina Kerr knows a thing or two about stubborn men. But Bryce is more strong-willed than all of her brothers combined. He’s also maddeningly handsome, brave, and kind—but no matter how compelling her captor, she’s intent on escaping him. Only then will she be able to protect her brothers. But as Bryce’s plan escalates and her feelings for him intensify, she finds herself facing an unthinkable choice between her family and the man who has captured her heart.

Starting today, the first book in the Border Series is just .99 on Amazon. Be transported to a time of knights and castles with The Thief’s Countess, a tale of divided loyalties (and love of course). Set in 13th century Northumbria along the Anglo-Scottish border, The Thief’s Countess is my debut novel more than twenty years in the making.
A thief turned reluctant protector… A countess who resents but can’t resist him…
SirGeoffrey has dedicated his life to exacting revenge on the men who killed his parents and stole his birthright. The son of a baron, he has been reduced to stealing the resources he needs to reclaim his family legacy. Just when he’s on the verge of success, his uncle asks him to put his plans on hold to help protect a wealthy countess. It’s a distraction Geoffrey resents, even more so when he meets Lady Sara. The gorgeous, complicated and alluring lady is everything he’d want in a woman—and everything he can’t have.
With her betrothed coming to claim her hand in marriage and a distant cousin intent on usurping her earldom, Lady Sara Caiser feels beset by controlling, unwanted men. As if that weren’t enough, her father’s deathbed request was for two lawless border reivers to serve as her protectors. Despite her misgivings, an undeniable attraction pulls her into Sir Geoffrey’s arms. The man she thought nothing more than a thief is more dangerous than she believed, for he’s noble, caring and sinfully attractive. As the threats against her continue to mount, Sara must decide what’s more important—her duty or her heart.

Local romance author launches her debut novel on First Friday.
Roaring Brook Twp., PA – Cecelia Mecca, a Scranton native and resident of Roaring Brook Township, is launching her debut historical romance novel, The Ward’s Bride, at Library Express at the Marketplace at Steamtown on March 3, 2017. After successfully launching a prequel novella in February into the top twenty in three of Amazon’s “Hot New Releases,” Cecelia will introduce her first full-length novel during a book reading and signing event to coincide with First Friday in Scranton.
“I’m overwhelmed by the support and excitement around the launch. Having started research for the book as a student at the University of Scranton more than twenty years ago, The Thief’s Countess is both a dream come true and a life-long goal achieved.” Mecca will launch her novel officially on March 1, 2017 exclusive to Amazon.
Set in 13th century Northumbria along the Anglo-Scottish border, both the prequel and first book in the Border Series explore a tumultuous region using divided loyalties as a backdrop for romance. Mecca earned a PhD in Curriculum and Instruction at Penn State University after receiving a bachelor’s degree in education the University of Scranton and a master’s degree in English from the same school. Although her interest in medieval literature was sparked as a student, it would be more than twenty years before she combined her love of both medieval studies and the romance genre to publish her first novel.
With more than thirty reviews and an average 4.8 rating, the prequel novella became an instant favorite with historical romance fans. “The author writes romance hot enough to melt and sensual enough to make you go weak in the knees. An enchanting story with technicolor, that weaves a web of sensual suspense,” says Kristina Finskas. Another Amazon reviewer states, “I was glued to the pages, instantly. I read it in one setting…Filled with plenty of action, a secret or two, romance, intrigue and love. Ms. Mecca manages to bring this Novella together for an enticing, captivating and seductively intriguing story.
Digital copies of both the novella and full-length novel can be purchased on Amazon.com, and paperback versions can be purchased on Amazon.com and at Library Express in Scranton. Mecca can be reached via her Facebook page, www.facebook.com/ceceliamecca, Twitter, www.twitter.com/ceceliamecca or through her website at www.ceceliamecca.com on via her media page at www.ceceliamecca.com/media.

Oh yes. I’m officially a published romance author!!
The Ward’s Bride, a prequel Border Series novella, was released and the early reviews are making me gitty. This might be my favorite:
To be honest, the whole thing it a bit surreal. CM Insiders have already received their free copy. I launched a Medieval Monday Q&A Giveaway which was a ton of fun. (Every Monday I will plan to answer questions on Facebook Live submitted from various channels and give away a fun prize to one medieval fact finder.) It’s been a bit of a whirlwind.
About The Ward’s Bride
The special edition prequel novella set along the 13th century Anglo-Scottish border includes “chapter upgrades,” a concept I’ve been asked about quite a bit this week. Similar to DVD extras, these upgrades can be found throughout the book at the end of some chapters offering additional inspiration and history about events, people and places in the book. If readers prefer not to interrupt their reading, they can also grab all upgrades at the end.
The upgrades are available for the first three weeks of the book launch. And then they go bye-bye. Grab your copy on Amazon or other retailers before February 27th for .99 to get the special edition novella.
Although I plan lots of signed paperback giveaways including a mega-giveaway at my book launch event at Library Express in Scranton, PA on March 3, 2017 as well as to CM Insiders and Border Ambassadors, I’m also running one on Goodreads now so feel free to enter.
Whew! So much more to tell as I gear up for the debut novel release March 1st. The Thief’s Countess is a true labor of love which I started more than twenty years ago. And it’s almost here!! I am truly living a life-long dream.
Your turn. What is something you’ve always wanted to do? Share in a comment below.
I love cover reveals! The amazingly talented Kim Killion brought Sir Adam Dayne from the Border Series prequel to life (Well, kind of. Wouldn’t it be amazing if she really could make him pop out from the book?) I’m beyond excited since this will be my very first published novel, coming out even before The Thief’s Countess, this February.
And the best news? It will be a free novella for historical romance fans with a love of all things knights and castles. Become a CM Insider for the latest scoop and follow me on Facebook to be notified of its release.
I’ve mentioned some of my favorite medieval TV shows to get your Game of Thrones fix, but what can you watch if you’re looking for historical fiction on the tube? Luckily there seems to be an explosion of period dramas in the past few years. Historical romance on screen is scarce, but if you’re like me, the appeal of the genre extends beyond the HEA on TV.
Get ready for 15 hot new romance novels including The Thief’s Countess from yours truly! I’ve teamed up with fourteen romance authors offering sneak peeks of their upcoming books . . . no strings attached. Just click this link or the graphic below to download your previews.
