Becoming a Published Romance Author with My First Historical Romance Novel

Just a few updates over here. I’ve discovered a new Game of Thrones trailer that was sneakily released in December. I have a new favorite TV show. And it feels like I’m missing something.

Oh yes. I’m officially a published romance author!!

The Ward’s Bride, a prequel Border Series novella, was released and the early reviews are making me gitty. This might be my favorite:

5 of 5 stars from KF- “Get ready for an adventure of history, romance and sizzling hot sexyness!! This review contains some spoilers for the story. I have read my fair share of historical romance novels in my life (total madwoman for this genre) and this author rapidly became my new favorite! There was something different and refreshing in her style of writing, that made it impossible for me to put this book down until I had reached the very last page. I live for books like this, that make me forget everything around me and just whisk the reader off somewhere else entirely. A book so good it leaves you slightly out of breath when it’s finished…!”

To be honest, the whole thing it a bit surreal. CM Insiders have already received their free copy. I launched a Medieval Monday Q&A Giveaway which was a ton of fun. (Every Monday I will plan to answer questions on Facebook Live submitted from various channels and give away a fun prize to one medieval fact finder.) It’s been a bit of a whirlwind.

About The Ward’s Bride

The special edition prequel novella set along the 13th century Anglo-Scottish border includes “chapter upgrades,” a concept I’ve been asked about quite a bit this week. Similar to DVD extras, these upgrades can be found throughout the book at the end of some chapters offering additional inspiration and history about events, people and places in the book. If readers prefer not to interrupt their reading, they can also grab all upgrades at the end.

The upgrades are available for the first three weeks of the book launch. And then they go bye-bye. Grab your copy on Amazon or other retailers before February 27th for .99 to get the special edition novella.

Although I plan lots of signed paperback giveaways including a mega-giveaway at my book launch event at Library Express in Scranton, PA on March 3, 2017 as well as to CM Insiders and Border Ambassadors, I’m also running one on Goodreads now so feel free to enter.
