Reader’s Top 5 Favorite Quotes from The Earl’s Entanglement

It’s been 24 hours since the latest Border Series book is out, and I can hardly sleep. I love this book and am over the moon with the response, thankful readers love reading Garrick and Emma as must as I enjoyed writing them. Readers have been sharing their favorite quotes and moments from the book, and here are my top ten favorites so far:

5. Heat shot through her like a leather horse whip. It came from nowhere but consumed everything, its effects utterly unavoidable.

4. But a life without risk was a life not worth living at all.

3. Emma wanted to live. Every moment. Every day. Each night she lay in her bed and imagined how she could eke out a bit more joy the next day—for one thing her parents’ early death had taught her was that there may not be a next day. Before she’d gone to the market on that fateful day, her mother had kissed her cheek and said, “Until later, my love.” Later had never come.

2. Audentes fortuna iuvat. Those words were inscribed on the wall behind the lord and lady’s table in the hall and engraved in both his shield and his father’s. It was more than a family motto. His father had lived by it. Garrick had sought to do so as well. And if fortune truly favored the bold, he would make Emma Waryn his wife.

And the #1 most loved quote from ‘The Earl’s Entanglement’ is:

The next book in the Border Series, The Scot’s Secret, is coming November 6, 2017. The heroine’s family motto “Non ducor, docu” which means “I am not led. I lead” will be the basis for our next t-shirt design. But the designs are too amazing to choose from. Which would you be most likely to grab on Amazon when they become available?

Is this the next story you expected?

The Lord’s Captive: An Enemies to Lovers Medieval Romance

From Once a Princess by Johanna Lindsey to A Kingdom of Dreams by Judith McNaught, I’ve always loved a good enemies-to- lovers historical romance. When Bryce made an appearance in The Thief’s Countess, I knew immediately his story would be told next. And who better to help melt his icy demeanor than the sister of his greatest enemy?

Part of the appeal of this series to me as an author is exploring divided loyalties of real people in two soon to be warring nations. And while the 13th century was a relative time of peace between England and Scotland, along the border, peace was always tenuous. The idea of an English hero and Scottish heroine will be exactly reversed in the next book, but for the time being, I hope readers enjoy Bryce and Catrina’s story in The Lord’s Captive.

Pick up a copy of The Lord’s Captive on Amazon. And if you read in Kobo, Nook or iBook, grab the Kindle Reader to delve into this historical romance novel I very much hope you will enjoy! Official Blurb

The Lord

Sir Bryce Waryn has dreamed for years about the day when he will finally liberate his home from the Scots who killed his parents and stole his brother’s birthright. Now that day is finally upon him, only his brother has abdicated the title of lord of Bristol Manor to him. Bryce should be celebrating, but something unexpected stands in his way—the sister of the Scot who held Bristol. In the chaos of the raid, Lady Catrina Kerr was injured and left behind. Bryce takes her captive, hoping to exact an even more satisfying revenge from his enemy, except the fiery beauty is far more compelling than he would like…

The Captive

Raised by three elder brothers, Lady Catrina Kerr knows a thing or two about stubborn men. But Bryce is more strong-willed than all of her brothers combined. He’s also maddeningly handsome, brave, and kind—but no matter how compelling her captor, she’s intent on escaping him. Only then will she be able to protect her brothers. But as Bryce’s plan escalates and her feelings for him intensify, she finds herself facing an unthinkable choice between her family and the man who has captured her heart.

Press Release: Cecelia Mecca Author Launch Event

Date: 02/17/17
Contact: Cecelia Mecca, (570) 840-2018,

Local romance author launches her debut novel on First Friday.

Roaring Brook Twp., PA – Cecelia Mecca, a Scranton native and resident of Roaring Brook Township, is launching her debut historical romance novel, The Ward’s Bride, at Library Express at the Marketplace at Steamtown on March 3, 2017. After successfully launching a prequel novella in February into the top twenty in three of Amazon’s “Hot New Releases,” Cecelia will introduce her first full-length novel during a book reading and signing event to coincide with First Friday in Scranton.

“I’m overwhelmed by the support and excitement around the launch. Having started research for the book as a student at the University of Scranton more than twenty years ago, The Thief’s Countess is both a dream come true and a life-long goal achieved.” Mecca will launch her novel officially on March 1, 2017 exclusive to Amazon.

Set in 13th century Northumbria along the Anglo-Scottish border, both the prequel and first book in the Border Series explore a tumultuous region using divided loyalties as a backdrop for romance. Mecca earned a PhD in Curriculum and Instruction at Penn State University after receiving a bachelor’s degree in education the University of Scranton and a master’s degree in English from the same school. Although her interest in medieval literature was sparked as a student, it would be more than twenty years before she combined her love of both medieval studies and the romance genre to publish her first novel.

With more than thirty reviews and an average 4.8 rating, the prequel novella became an instant favorite with historical romance fans. “The author writes romance hot enough to melt and sensual enough to make you go weak in the knees. An enchanting story with technicolor, that weaves a web of sensual suspense,” says Kristina Finskas. Another Amazon reviewer states, “I was glued to the pages, instantly. I read it in one setting…Filled with plenty of action, a secret or two, romance, intrigue and love. Ms. Mecca manages to bring this Novella together for an enticing, captivating and seductively intriguing story.

Digital copies of both the novella and full-length novel can be purchased on, and paperback versions can be purchased on and at Library Express in Scranton. Mecca can be reached via her Facebook page,, Twitter, or through her website at on via her media page at

Becoming a Published Romance Author with My First Historical Romance Novel

Just a few updates over here. I’ve discovered a new Game of Thrones trailer that was sneakily released in December. I have a new favorite TV show. And it feels like I’m missing something.

Oh yes. I’m officially a published romance author!!

The Ward’s Bride, a prequel Border Series novella, was released and the early reviews are making me gitty. This might be my favorite:

5 of 5 stars from KF- “Get ready for an adventure of history, romance and sizzling hot sexyness!! This review contains some spoilers for the story. I have read my fair share of historical romance novels in my life (total madwoman for this genre) and this author rapidly became my new favorite! There was something different and refreshing in her style of writing, that made it impossible for me to put this book down until I had reached the very last page. I live for books like this, that make me forget everything around me and just whisk the reader off somewhere else entirely. A book so good it leaves you slightly out of breath when it’s finished…!”

To be honest, the whole thing it a bit surreal. CM Insiders have already received their free copy. I launched a Medieval Monday Q&A Giveaway which was a ton of fun. (Every Monday I will plan to answer questions on Facebook Live submitted from various channels and give away a fun prize to one medieval fact finder.) It’s been a bit of a whirlwind.

About The Ward’s Bride

The special edition prequel novella set along the 13th century Anglo-Scottish border includes “chapter upgrades,” a concept I’ve been asked about quite a bit this week. Similar to DVD extras, these upgrades can be found throughout the book at the end of some chapters offering additional inspiration and history about events, people and places in the book. If readers prefer not to interrupt their reading, they can also grab all upgrades at the end.

The upgrades are available for the first three weeks of the book launch. And then they go bye-bye. Grab your copy on Amazon or other retailers before February 27th for .99 to get the special edition novella.
