Your Chance to Craft a Novella with Historical Author Emily Murdoch

Today I have medieval and Regency romance author, Emily Murdoch, to tell us about her latest exciting series – Ravishing Regencies – which gives YOU the chance to craft a novella with her!

I always wanted to be an author. There is terrible home video footage of me proudly reading out my latest ‘story’ to my long-suffering parents, and my school reports were jam-packed with encouragement for writing, and concern over science!

When I arrived at university to study History and English (all medieval, of course!), I lost my appetite for writing. Real life had to happen first, I thought, and surely there will be plenty of time left for me to write when I was older; more secure, more stable. I didn’t own a home, I didn’t have a full-time job.

Writing could wait.

How wrong I was. By the time I started my Masters (Medieval Studies, woop!), I realized that writing wasn’t something that I could pick up and put down again. It was part of my lifeblood, the heart of who I was as a person.

It wasn’t a choice between writing or not writing. It was a choice between being a writer and not being true to who I was.

With the support of my boyfriend, now husband, I put finger to keyboard and wrote my first series: a medieval romance series based just after the Norman Conquest of 1066. You can read them here! Since then I’ve meandered around history a bit, exploring 1840s Texas and Regency England. My next series to write is based in 13th century England, and I can’t wait to get my teeth sunk into it!

But before then, I need to publish my newest series, Ravishing Regencies, and to do that, I need your help.

If you’ve ever wanted to be an author but never had the confidence to do it, this is your chance! I’m raising funds through Kickstarter to finance the series’ publication, and some of the rewards are incredibly exciting: naming characters, even making plot decisions for me and seeing how I write them out!!

This could be your first foray into becoming an author – and who knows, maybe one day you will be hosted by the incredible Cecelia yourself, to launch your new series!

I would love to work with you to make Ravishing Regencies the most incredible series ever. Why not take a look at the amazing rewards that you could treat yourself to?
