Highland Seduction {Behind the Scenes}

I’ve included an Author’s Note in Highland Seduction, like Emma’s in book one of the series, Highland Feud, which reads:

Though I typically offer historical notes on my book bonus page, I loved Emma’s idea in Highland Feud of an author’s note directly in the book, so without further ado . . .

The challenge, or opportunity, to combine fact and fiction was even more pronounced with this interconnect trilogy. Emma, Keira and myself worked hard to ensure continuity across all three stories even with seemingly minor details.

For instance, we carefully calculated the time it might take to travel from Shaw and MacRob land to Berwick, and later in Keira’s book, to Edinburgh, in the 13th century. We included castle maps in our shared notes to ensure any discussion of their layout was consistent. For instance, if you’d like to see the inspiration for Castle MacRob, look up Goodrich Castle and get a peek inside Royce, Tor and Catlin’s home.

We used an inspiration image and character notes for Father Godfrey to ensure he remained consistent through the books and relied on map screenshots for the layout of the land which all three of our character traversed.

In doing so, it is Emma, Keira and my fervent wish you are not only enjoy the individual HEAs in each book but are also invested in the world we created with Clan Shaw and Clan MacRob taking center stage.

Thank you for traveling back through time with Emma in Highland Feud and myself in Highland Seduction, and buckle up for the series conclusion, Highland Secrets by Keira Montclair.
